JSON Safari

Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains how JSON Safari, developed by Mohammed Aadhil, handles information when you use the app.

Website access and document processing

With your Safari permission, the extension can run on HTTP and HTTPS pages. Its broad website-access permission allows it to detect and view supported documents from different websites, including authenticated pages. It reads the current page URL, document type, and supported document content to decide whether to offer or display the viewer.

Parsing, syntax highlighting, folding, and rendering take place on your device. The extension is designed to leave ordinary web pages alone and does not maintain a browsing-history database or send page content to a developer server.

Requests to the original website

To obtain the original document text, including XML that Safari has reconstructed, the viewer may request the current document URL again. It uses the browser cache where available and follows redirects; uncached documents can cause another request to the original website.

This request can carry the website’s cookies and discloses your IP address and requested URL to that site and any redirect destination. The website handles those requests under its own privacy policy. The extension does not send the document to a separate parsing or analytics service.

Local state and diagnostics

The app and extension share a local timestamp recording the most recent native handshake, so the container app can indicate that the extension has run. Parsed document data and viewer state are held in the page’s memory rather than a developer-hosted database.

The extension writes local diagnostic messages about detection, parsing, and errors to browser or system logs. Native handshake messages may also appear in local logs. These logs are not sent to the developer by the extension. If you choose to share logs for support, inspect them for sensitive URLs or content first.

Your choices and deletion

Control website access or disable the extension in Safari’s extension settings. Use the viewer’s return-to-original-page control to restore Safari’s display. Closing or navigating away from the page releases the viewer session; Safari can separately retain history, caches, cookies, and website data under its own settings.

Removing the app and its associated data removes its local shared state, subject to operating-system handling of shared containers and backups. Manage Safari data and backups separately. Restricting website access can prevent the viewer from operating on that site.

Analytics and tracking

Apple may provide app usage statistics and diagnostics according to your device sharing settings. These are handled under Apple’s App Analytics privacy notice. The app does not include a separate analytics, advertising, or tracking service.

Support and privacy requests

If you contact Mohammed Aadhil at me@aadhil.dev, your email address, message, and any attachments are used to respond to your request and resolve the issue. Email providers process that correspondence to deliver and store it. Support correspondence is kept as needed to handle your request and any related legal obligations; you can request deletion by email.

Please avoid including passwords, license keys, confidential documents, or other sensitive content unless you deliberately choose to share it for support. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information held about you. Contact the same address to exercise those rights. The developer cannot access or remotely delete data stored only on your device.

Children’s privacy

This app is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has supplied personal information in a support request, contact me@aadhil.dev to request its removal.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the app or its data practices change. The latest version will be available at this URL with a revised date. This policy covers the Apple-platform app and its related support; websites and services you choose to use have their own privacy practices.
