webdevtools
Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains how webdevtools, developed by Mohammed Aadhil, handles information when you use the app.
Information kept on your device
The app stores up to 100 recently visited sites, including URLs, page titles, and visit times, plus your favourites and custom viewport presets. URLs can contain search terms or other information in their query parameters.
Apple’s WebKit stores cookies, local storage, IndexedDB, caches, and other website data inside the app. These records are not uploaded to the developer by webdevtools.
What websites and search providers receive
Opening a website connects your device to that website and the services it uses. They can receive your IP address, requested URL, cookies, browser information, and anything you enter or upload, under their own privacy policies.
Address-bar text that is not a web address is sent to Google as a search. Google handles that request under its privacy policy. Signing into a website is an interaction with that site, not a webdevtools account.
Developer tools
Elements, Styles, Console, Storage, and Network inspect page markup, styles, console messages, website storage, and network activity locally. Inspection scripts run inside web views and can receive page activity while the page loads. Commands you run can change a page or cause its scripts to make network requests.
Console messages, network records, and inspected page data are held in memory for the tab and are discarded when the tab closes or the app quits. They may contain sensitive website content. Data you deliberately copy out of the tools remains in the destination you choose.
The bundled demo page is served locally on your device.
Permissions
Websites may request camera, microphone, or location access or access to selected files; saving an image may require photo-library permission. Access is subject to the platform’s permission controls. The app uses these capabilities for the website actions you choose, and websites can receive content you provide.
Local-network permission allows connections to development servers on your network. Manage device permissions in Settings.
Retention and deletion
Clear history from the new-tab page and remove favourites there. Use the Storage panel to remove supported website storage entries and cookies. Clearing history does not clear website data. Local records remain until deleted, replaced by the history limit, or removed with the app’s stored data.
Deleting the app and its data on iOS removes its local records; offloading the app can retain them. Device backups and copies you have made may remain and must be managed separately.
Analytics and tracking
Apple may provide app usage statistics and diagnostics according to your device sharing settings. These are handled under Apple’s App Analytics privacy notice. The app does not include a separate analytics, advertising, or tracking service.
Support and privacy requests
If you contact Mohammed Aadhil at me@aadhil.dev, your email address, message, and any attachments are used to respond to your request and resolve the issue. Email providers process that correspondence to deliver and store it. Support correspondence is kept as needed to handle your request and any related legal obligations; you can request deletion by email.
Please avoid including passwords, license keys, confidential documents, or other sensitive content unless you deliberately choose to share it for support. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information held about you. Contact the same address to exercise those rights. The developer cannot access or remotely delete data stored only on your device.
Children’s privacy
This app is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has supplied personal information in a support request, contact me@aadhil.dev to request its removal.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the app or its data practices change. The latest version will be available at this URL with a revised date. This policy covers the Apple-platform app and its related support; websites and services you choose to use have their own privacy practices.
